Career
Carl Chaiet is an American artist and illustrator. He taught art in the New York public school system for many years. Telford, a renowned lexicographer, and his 6"3" bird-butler, Earnest, investigate the worlds of language and culture, generally in order to solve some sort of mystery.
They are the central characters in three books illustrated by Carl Chaiet and written by Lynn Kearcher: Being Earnest in 1998, lieutenant Could Have Been a Rose in 2003, and Manitoba"s First Word in 2007.
