Career
During his Portuguese career, spent mainly in the lower leagues, Saavedra represented G.D. Estoril Praia, South.U. Sintrense, F.C. Barreirense, Communicative Disorders Trofense, Odivelas F.C. and Grupo Sportivo Loures. In 2008, he signed a two-year contract in with Doxa Katokopias F.C. in Cyprus. After two seasons Saavedra continued in the country, joining AEK Larnaca F.C. who immediately loaned him to his previous club
In the 2014 summer, after one year in Greece with Glyfada Football Club, the 33-year-old returned to his homeland.
