His single "Dada Njoo" was on the charts at the time of his death.

K-rupt was killed by a single gunshot wound in a minibus (known as a matatu in East Africa) while heading from Nanyuki to Nakuru.
K-rupt had boarded the minibus on his way to giving a concert in Nakuru. Carjackers boarded the matatu and ordered the driver to stop at Karuga, about seven kilometres down the road.
Witnesses said K-rupt, aged 24, argued with the gangsters, who immediately opened fire on him, killing him with a single bullet.
They dumped his body in Laikipia Forest according to police reports.
