Heah holds three degrees and a postgraduate diploma: a Master of Arts in English Language and Linguistics, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Literature and a Diploma in Education (all from the University of Malaya), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Liguistics from the University of Edinburgh.
She is a senior lecturer in the Language and Communication Centre of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is the author or co-author of four books, academic papers and journal articles Heah conducts corporate and professional training in business and technical writing skills and presentations.
