Career
She represented Brazil at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and had been training with the Rio de Janeiro Yacht Club (Portuguese: Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro) for most of her career before joining the Portuguese squad in 2012. As of September 2013, Mendelblatt is ranked northern 91 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.
Eight years after competing in her last Olympics, Mendelblatt joined the Portuguese squad to compete for the second time in the RS:X class at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London by receiving a berth from the World Championships in Cadiz, Spain.
Mendelblatt withdrew from the Games before the event had officially started, claiming that she lacked the support of the Portuguese mission and that she was three months pregnant.
