England (Mistress Duncan Buttrick). Commissioned ensign, United States Navy, 1910, and advanced through grades to commodore, 1944, commanded destroyer (French Coast) World War I. Commanded United States Naval Training Station, Newport, Rhode Island, 1941-1945, United States Naval Operating Base, December 1944-March 1945.

Retired May 1946.
