Martin, Celora E. was born on August 23, 1834 in Newport, New York, United States. Son of Ellis and Lucetta (Brayton) Martin.

Education

Educated in Newport, New York, 1839-1849. At Fairfield and Holland Patent, 1849-1853. Studied law at Newport, New York.

Admitted to bar, July 1856.

Career

Practiced Whitney’s Point, Broome Company, 1857-1867, Binghamton, 1867-1877. Appointed 1877 and later same year elected justice Superior Court. Re-elected 1891; in 1887 designated as justice of general term and acted as such until December 31, 1895.

Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, 1896-December 31, 1904.
