Brunsvold can be recognized as hosting some of the best Local Area Network events some have ever attended in the United States.
Brunsvold got started with the video game and Local Area Network party scene in 2006. Brunsvold is often considered a key player in the growth of lan parties and e-sports in the Midwest United States, more specifically his home state of Iowa. He contributed and helped organize such events as the Twin Galaxies Video Game Festival, the Grassroots Gaming Expo and a yearly occurring event titled after his own organization MEG-CON.
Disappointed with the quality and lack of established video game tournaments in the region, Chad and Tony decided to do something great with their extreme passion for competitive gaming and create a business.
Since founding MEG, Chad and Tony traveled to many regional Local Area Network oriented events meeting and building a core community of other organizations surrounded behind the same idea and vision behind their own, the mutual agreement that the Midwest lacks representation and attention though the eyes of the gaming world.
MEG continues to actively pursue grabbing the attention of gamers in the Midwest, and also give them a home and place to compete for the recognition they deserve. “Focus on the gamers, focus on making it fun for the players,” is the mantra of the MEG team
In May 2013 Brunsvold absorbed ownership of Today Brunsvold continues to operate MEG with its original vision.
Walter Day, founder of Twin Galaxies has been quoted saying "Brunsvold is a leader in the world wide gaming hobby." In August 2011, Brunsvold was independently interviewed for the still yet to be released video game documentary Bonus Life: Extended Play. On July 2, 2013, Brunsvold took the mantel of Chief Executive Officer of the when the previous Chief Executive Officer and founder Scott Barrett stepped down from the position.
