Career
As of 2010 he was suffering from cancer. Senator was a student of Utpal Dutt and Ramaprasad Banik. He started acting in Bengali theatre in 1977.
He joined Natya Anan theatre group as a creative director and an actor in 1997.
Since then he has acted in numbers of Bengali films. His performance of the street goon Babu Ram in Anjan Dutta"s Madly Bangalee is highly praised and acknowledged.
Currently he is a regular face in Star Jalsha"s daily soap Ichchenodi.
