Career
In 1937, he returned to teach at the National Art School. In 1943, he moved his family to remote Dunhuang to pursue his long-cherished art of Mogao Caves. From then on, he started his 40 years’ hard life and artistic creation of Dunhuang, and became renowned as the “Guardian of Dunhuang Caves”.
