Career
Boateng began his career by Nania F.C. and played with his team for the Youth Cup in Altstetten 2004 and 2005, reaching the final. He moved in January 2008 from Nania F.C. to Dijon Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and in June 2007 was on trial at Dijon Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He was one of the players who was banned from the Ghana Division 2 after the match-fixing scandal with Nania F.C. and Okwawu United. After three seasons with Dijon Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the 20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder signed on 14 June 2010 for Football Club Rouen.
He resigned on a two-year deal on 2 July 2015 with Rouen.
He also played for Ghana U17 team at 2005 Fédération internationale de football association U-17 World Championship.
