Vice-president Mount Lebanon (Louisiana) College, 1900. Ordained ministry Baptist Church, 1900. Pastor Natchitoches and Robelene, Louisiana, later Calvert, Texas, until 1904.

In charge home mission work, Havana, Cuba, under Home Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention, 1904. Pastor successively Ocala, Florida, Owensboro, Kentucky, Winchester, Kentucky, and supply at Shreveport, Louisiana, and Beaumont, Texas, until 1919. Chair of Bible doctrines, etc., Baptist Bible Institute, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1919-1928, also pastor New Sight Baptist Church, near Brookhaven, Mississippi Enlisted Troop G, 1st Regiment, Texas Volunteer United States Cavalry, 1898, Spanish-American War.

Appointed sergeant assistant chaplain general United States.C.V., 1909, 10.
