Background
A member of the Cavendish family headed by the Duke of Devonshire, Chesham was the first son of Nicholas Charles Cavendish and Suzanne Adrienne Byrne, his second wife whom he married in 1973.

He is also in the line of succession to the Dukedom of Devonshire, he is a descendant of Mary Boleyn the aunt of Elizabeth I of England
Charles attended Kings School, Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia. He is a keen sportsman and enjoys tennis, wind surfing, soccer, shooting and skiing. Baron Chesham married Sarah Elizabeth Dawson, daughter of Bruce Dawson on 15 June 2002.
They have two children:
