After a preparatory education he entered Harvard University with the class of 1888, and following his graduation studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts.
Elected to the Boston Society of Architects in 1911, he continued active in affairs pertaining to the profession during his long career. For more than a decade he was chairman of the Society’s “Committee on Public Information and Publications,” and during four successive years ably filled the office of the Secretary of the B. S. A.
