A graduate of Haverford College, Pa., the young man entered the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for an architectural training.
For a few years he was employed in Boston in the office of Henry Van Brunt, afterward joined the firm of Ware & Van Brunt in Kansas City. He was formerly member of the firm of Dawson & McLaughlin, also practiced independently at times.In architectural practice in Muskogee Mr. Dawson was commissioned to design the Central High School built between 1909 and 1913, School for the Blind, 1920-24, and buildings at Bacon College.
He was elected the first president of the Oklahoma Chapter, A.I.A.
