He completed a course in Mechanical Engineering at the State University in 1884, and after a few years in architectural training in the office of James Freret, took a postgraduate course at Cornell University.
In 1890 Mr. Favrot opened an office with S. R. Duvall and continued that association three years. In 1895 he entered into a partnership with Louis A. Livaudais which was maintained until the latter's decease in 1932, and during that long period of practice served as co-architect of a number of noteworthy buildings in New Orleans. Among these should be named St. Charles Theatre, 1901; Holton High School, 1926; New Orleans Cotton Exchange, 1920; Hibernia Bank Building (in association with A. C. Bossom); Roosevelt Hotel, 1924: and the Municipal Auditorium, built in 1930. The firm also designed the Hutchinson Memorial Building at Tulane University.
Mr. Favrot also participated in municipal projects, and for a number of years served as Chairman of the City Planning and Zoning Commission.
Active in the affairs of the Louisiana Chapter, A.I.A. of which he had been a member since 1901.
