Career
He joined BlackRock at its inception in 1988. Hallac was Chief Operating Officer for BlackRock from 2009-2014. Prior to joining BlackRock in 1988, he was an associate in the Mortgage Products Group at The First Boston Corporation.
Hallac was Jewish.
He grew up in Manila, Philippines and graduated from the International School of Manila. He earned a Bachelor degree in economics and computer science from Brandeis University in 1986. Charles Hallac died on September 9, 2015, aged 50, following a four-year battle with colorectal cancer.
