One of the oldest continuously operating law firms in the City of Memphis, Apperson, Crump, Duzane & Maxwell, Public Limited Company dates from the one-man practice started in 1865 by Charles Wesley Metcalf, grandfather of its senior partner, Charles Metcalf Crump.
His son, William Park Metcalf, practiced from 1897 until his death in 1940 when John West. Apperson and Charles Metcalf Crump formed a partnership under the name of Metcalf, Apperson & Crump.
