Career
Born in State College, Pennsylvania to Charles Emory Myers and Christine Bidelspatcher, Myers obtained his Bachelor in economics in 1934 from the Pennsylvania State University. After his graduation in 1939 Myers started his academic career as instructor in Economics and Social science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was promoted Assistant Professor of Industrial Relations in 1941.
From 1948 to 1964 he was also director of the Industrial Relations Section.
In 1962 he was elected president of the Industrial Relations Research Association.
