Charles Pettigrew

Career

Previously, Pettigrew had lived in Boston where he was lead singer of the band Down Avenue. In the late nineties Pettigrew was diagnosed with cancer. He succumbed to the disease on April 6, 2001, at the age of 37.

Achievements

• Down Avenue was the winner of radio station WBCN"s 1985 Rock "n Roll Rumble, he was also probably best known as half of Rhythm & Blues duo Charles & Eddie, who had a worldwide hit in 1992 with "Would I Lie To You?." The track is amongst the most well-recognised of early "90s r"n"b tracks, Pettigrew met singing partner Eddie Chacon in New New York
