He received an early architectural training and practiced first in St. Louis. About 1915 Mr. Pfeil moved to Memphis, shortly after formed a partnership with George Awsumb (Pfeil & Awsumb) and carried on his work in that association until the time of his death. Among the buildings designed by the firm was the Idelwild Memorial Church in Memphis, and the Municipal Auditorium on which the partners were associated with other architects.
