Charles J. Roitz was born in 1935 in the United States.
Charles Roitz earned a Bachelor of Science in English Literature, philosophy, and administration from Regis College (now Regis University) in Denver, Colorado (1961), and a Master of Arts in Art/Photography from San Francisco State University (1968).
Since 1970 Charles Roitz has been an associate professor of fine arts at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Previously he taught fine arts at Diablo Valley College, Concord, California (1969-1970), at Phoenix College, Arizona (1968-1969), and at California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland (1968).
Charles Roitz also worked as a motion picture specialist for Dow Chemical in Golden, Colorado (1963-1964), and as a producer/director for KOA Television in Denver (1961-1963).
Charles Roitz was a founding member of The Silver Source (1977), Visual Dialogue Foundation (1968), and Colorado Center for Photographic Studies (1977), serving on the latter's executive committee.
