He received his architectural training in New York City in offices of the late Calvert Vaux, William Olmstead and other early practitioners. After beginning practice he was associated with Mr. Olmstead in planning several commercial and industrial buildings in New York, including the office of of the American Express Company, and the first building erected for the National Biscuit Company.
In later years Mr. Romeyn maintained an independent office at the 551 Fifth Avenue denting his time mainly to planning Apartment Houses in the area Streets and Centra Park and the homes for clients on West 52nd and 54th.
He was an emeritus member of the New York Chapter, A. I. A., with which he had been affiliated after 1902.
