Career
Born on March 29, 1845, in New York City, Woram was still living in the state of New York when he joined the Navy. He served during the Civil War as a seaman on the United States Ship Oneida. At the Battle of Mobile Bay on August 5, 1864, he showed "cool courage" while carrying orders for the ship"s executive officer
Woram died on November 1, 1897, at age 52 and was buried in the Bronx.
