Taught school, Cooksville, 1898-1899, Roopville, Georgia., 1899-1900. Admitted to Bar in Clarke Superior Court, Judge R. B. Russell, presiding, 1901, and immediately began the practice of his profession at Carrollton, Georgia. Elected Solicitor of the City Court, Carrollton, 1904.
Reelected Solicitor of City Court of Carrollton, 1908-1912 and 1912-1916. Elected Judge without opposition, since 1920. Elected by the Mayor and City Council, as City Attorney of Carrollton, 1913-1914.
Chairman of the Water and Light Commission of Carrollton, 1912-1914. Elected a dele, from the Fourth Congressional District to the National. Democrat Convention at St. Louis, 1916 and 1928 at Houston, Texas.
Elected President Carrollton Bank, 24. Director of Carroll Mills. Chairman, Board of Directors of the Caroline Mills, a textile mill of about five thousand spindles mfg. cotton yarns.
Appointed Trustee, Fourth District A. and M. School, Carrollton, Georgia. (Chairman, 1930).
