Childrrn—Charles Franklin, Jean Dionis, Natalie Cornelia, Superintendent of Schools, New Albany, Indiana, 1882-1884. Practiced law, Wichita, Kansas, 1887-1893. Returned to Indianapolis and became dean, DePauw Law School, 1893.

An organizer State Life Insurance Company, 1894, and then general counsel, also director Peoples State Bank, Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce many years, vice president, 1917-1918, president, 1919-1921, then honorary life member board (membership increased from 1,000 to over 4,000 in that time), also member United States Chamber Commerce, International Chamber Commerce (delegate to organization, 1920).
