Career
Served in 5th Fusiliers, afterwards called the Northumberland Fusiliers, from 1872. Commanded 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers in Soudan campaign, 1898 (despatches, Companion of the Bath, medals and clasp for Khartoum). Occupation of Crete, 189S-y9.
South Africa, 1899-1900! (despatches, Queen's medal, 5 clasps, Brevet j Colonel). Commanded 24th Regimental District, 1902-1905. And Colonel in charge of Records, South Midland grouped Regimental District, j 1905-1907.
