Saunders, Charles Gurley was born on October 3, 1847 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Daniel and Mary Jane (Livermore) Saunders.


Bachelor of Arts, Harvard, 1867, A.M., 1870, Bachelor of Laws, 1870.


Began practice in Boston with Daniel and Caleb Saunders (father and uncle). Trustee N.E. Conservatory of Music. Director Houston Oil Corporation of Texas, Dartmouth Manufacturing Company, Essex Company.

Trustee Southwestern Settlement & Development Company Judge of the Court of Review for the Department of N.E., of the Protestant Episcopal Church. Appointed by General Convention held in Baltimore, 1892, member Commission to Revise Constitution and Canons of Protestant Episcopal Church. Appointed by the General Convention, 1913, member of Commision on the Revision of Enrichment of the Prayer Book.
