Jarvis, Charles H. was born on December 20, 1837 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Son of Charles Jarvis.

Education

Studied piano under his father and Leopold Meignen.

Career

Gave his 1st concert at Musical Fund Hall, Philadelphia, 1844. Began teaching music, 1854. Played often with Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic Society, Theodore Thomas Orchestra.

Gave series of chamber music and history piano recitals (latter with Doctor Hugh A. Clarke), 1862-1892. His musical library presented to Drexel Institute.
