Tweed, Charles Harrison was born on September 26, 1844 in Calais, Maine, United States. Son of Honorary Harrison and Huldah Ann (Pond) Tweed.
Bachelor of Arts, Harvard, 1865, A.M., 1868. Studied law under Edmund H. Bennett and in law department, Harvard.
Honorary William M. Evarts, October 27, 1881. Admitted to bar; entered office of Evarts, Southmayd & Choate. Partner in firm, 1874-1883.
Withdrew to become general counsel for the Central Pacific, the Chesapeake & Ohio, and associate railway corporations. When Southern Pacific Company was organized, became its general counsel. Co-partner in banking house of Speyer & Company, January 1, 1903-January 1, 1907.
