Career

June 1973); children—Harriett (Mistress R.P. London, Junior), Charles Johnson Carlton Allen, Elva (Mistress W. E. Latture). Newspaper reporter until 1913. Public Bristol Herald Courier, 1919-1950, established Johnson City (Tennessee) Press (daily newspaper), 1934, which in January 1935 absorbed its two rival newspapers.

Member Virginia War Bond Committee. Covered San Francisco United Nations Conference, 1945. Regional director civilian defense for 14 counties in western Virginia, also set up rationing and selective service bds. in these counties, 1941.
