Lincoln, Charles Perez was born on October 7, 1843 in Quincy, Michigan, United States. Son of Perez and Harriet Patty (Hopkins) Lincoln.


Lived on farm in boyhood. Educated Hillsdale (Michigan) College.


Orderly sergeant 1st Michigan Infantry, April 1861. At Alexandria and Bull Run, Virginia, May and July 1861. Captain 19th Michigan, 1862-1864.

Prisoner of war at Libby, 1863. Colonel National Guard, 1871. Admitted to bar, 1871.

Assistant assessor internal revenue and chancery court clerk, Granada, Mississippi, 1871-1875. Consul at Canton, China, 1875-1881. Post-graduate National Law U., Washington, 1883.

Deputy commissioner of pensions, United States, 1889-1893. Attorney for Kiowa, Comanche and Apache tribes of Indians, 1898-1899. Now in insurance business at El Reno, Oklahoma Mayor of El Reno, since 1903.
