Herzig, Charles Simon was born on January 28, 1874 in New York, United States. Son of Simon and Anna (Schanzer) Herzig.

College City New York, 1891. Engineer of Mines, School of Mines (Columbia), 1895.

Career

Served various capacities in mines and smelting works, United States and Mexico. Became representative and local partner, 1903, in eastern Australia for Bewick, Moreing & Company, mining engrs., of London, England., at the time when Herbert C. Hoover was a member of that firm, and had charge of a number of companies as manager and director. In general practice London, 1906-1915.

Returned to the United States, 1915. Has visited most of the principal mining districts of the world.
