Berry, Charles White was born on April 11, 1871 in Greene County, New York, United States. Son of Frank M. and Almira (Horn) Berry.


Doctor of Medicine Columbia, 1896. Diploma in Public Health course New York University.


Practiced medicine in Brooklyn many years. Chairman New York Fair Price Coal Commission, 1924-1925. Member Reconstrn. Labor Board of New York, 1919-1921.

Comptroller City of New York, since 1926.


Served from private to captain New York National Guard, 1903-1917, major 14th Infantry later 106th Infantry, Advertising Educational Foundation, 1917-1918, participated battles at Somme Defensive, Dickebusch Lake, Vierstraat Ridge, Hindenburg Line (Somme offensive), Canal de la Sambre.
