Professor of Political Economy at the High College of Belgrade, 1865. General Secretary in the Ministry of Finances, 1869. Unofficial representative of Servia, Black Sea Conference in London, 1871.

Minister of Finance and Commerce of Servia, 1873. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Finance, 1880. Servian Minister to the Court of St. James, 1884.

Servian Plenipotentiary for the conclusion of peace with Bulgaria, 1886. Minister of Foreign Affairs. Minister of Servia to Roumania, 1894.

Servian Delegate at the Peace Conference, The Hague, 1899. Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the King of Servia to the Court of St. James, 1895-1900. Transferred to Constantinople, 1900.

Member of the Servian Upper House, 1901. Reappointed Minister to London, 1902. Resigned after the assassination of King Alexander, 1903.

Member of Royal Servian Academy, of Science. Corresponding member of South Slavonic Academy. Honorary member of Royal Historical Society, London.

Honorary member of Cobden Club. Senator of the kingdom of Servia since 1875.
