Chicote CFC revealed his artistic talent and passion for art in the childhood and already at the age of 12, Chicote presented his first works made with tempera, watercolor, ink, and oil at school.
Chicote received his first knowledge on painting art exploring and observing himself classic of the art along with avant-garde creations – surrealist and abstract artworks.
Then, he pursued his primary, secondary and pre-university studies in the Centre of studies John XXIII in Alcorcon, Madrid. There, he participated in the contest of Plastic Arts which brought him the 2nd Prize.
In 1984, Chicote entered the Center of academic studies of art Artium in Madrid, Spain which was presided by a famous painter Eduardo Peña. At the institution, Chicote began for the first time to incorporate some technical elements to the painting.
Carlos Fernández Chicote started his career from different business and economic activities. Then, in order to introduce himself to the world of art and find his own place in it, the young artist presented his first works in some collective exhibitions, such as Sala Eureka at the Duran Gallery in Madrid in 1983.
At the same time, Chicote travelled a lot to find more sources of inspiration for his creations and became fascinated by the photography as the new particular method of expression and creativity.
Two years after his first professional exhibition, Carlos Chicote was hired as a collaborator and art critic by the newsletter fortnightly Nifer published in Madrid.
Once involved in the world of photography, Chicote tended to develop himself in this field by exploring new technologies, in particular, computer science. This fact determined Chicote’s future choice of digital design.
In 2012, the artist created the new art movement called himself as "Simbiosismo" or simply the symbiotic art which concept lies on the merge of photography (named by the artist as photogenesis) and painting as well as vision and perception.
Nowadays, Carlos Fernández Chicote lives and works in Alcoron, Madrid. He takes part in many exhibitions, shows and painting contests all around the world, including Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States and China.
Chicote CFC is a prolific and highly creative abstract artist whose works are preserved in multiple museums, galleries and personal collections, including the Town Hall of Alcorcon, Spanish Royal House and ASELEX Law Firm, all in Madrid.
Chicote made a revolution in the world of art creating the Simbiosis art movement which is completely different from the Photographic. While the latter uses the retouch to just ameliorate the final result of the work, the symbiotic art consider the photographs as the prototypes for totally new creations with the new meaning.
In his artworks, Chicote CFC translates his perception and criticism of sociological human environment. Through capturing the misfortune of others and trying to reflect the issues that cause certain human acts, sometimes selfish and harsh, the artist tries to reflect the constant and stressful dynamism of today’s human life.
Quotations: "Change the support.Change methodology. Change the preparation and learning, but the basic principles remain. In short... The art evolves."
"My work is a synthesis product of an uninterrupted pulse to the imagination, a simple exercise of conjunction with the warp the critical judgment of a visual metaphor."
"We can say that photographers are thieves, images filcher, something that does not bring us any merit. It only manages to make a creative instrument of the images, when one is able to give them a perspective that allows them to show the reality in a different way."
"Artists love to get drunk with amazing dream images that make our imagination fly. The "Symbiosis" lowers us from the clouds, it avoids wandering in the chimera, it urges us to be able to face the reality that we are so afraid to face."
"The sensitivity and perceptual intelligence are those they make art something colossal."
"Dreams are the playground of the intelligence, creativity his only moment of freedom and independence."
"The continuous state of competition established destroys the integrity of the person."
