Education
After graduating from the Kobe Girls School of Economics Chieko Yamano married and proceeded to study cosmetics at Wanamaker Beauty School in New York (1918).
Career
After completing her training in New York she opened a beauty parlor there. Chieko Yamano returned to Japan in 1923 and brought home lots of new styles and fashions. She was the proprietress of many beauty parlors in Tokyo, director of Tokyo Advanced Beauty School, vice-president of All-Japan Beauty Artists Association and director of Women's Domestic Society.
