Education
After finishing at Fukuoka Prefectural Technical School served in the army during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905).
Career
Chikufu Takamine took to playing the biwa while young and after the war joined Kyoto Players' Circle (1907) and originated the Takamine Biwa tune (1912). He had the distinction of playing the biwa several times in the presence of the Imperial family at the Imperial Court.
