Chinnen Onishi was a Japanese painter, also known as Taiju.
Chinnen Onishi was born in Tokyo in 1792.
When Nangaku Watanabe, a Kyoto artist, came to Edo, he became Watanabe's disciple and was initiated into Kyoto-style painting. Later he studied under Buncho Tani. Among his disciples were Togai Kawakami and Chingaku Kobayashi.
