His directorial debut was Bhakta Markandeya starring Vemuri Gaggayya and Sriranjani. The film had done well establishing him as a director He subsequently directed many movies like Myravana, Bhakta Prahlada, Daksha Yagnam, Bheeshma in both Telugu and Tamil languages.
