Achievements include invention of suspending method for measuring strain of single fiber; research in verifying negative thermal expansion of carbon fiber; discovery of negative hygric expansion of carbon fiber; discovery of pneumatic behavior of materials; invention of torsional pendulum method for measuring shear modules of single fiber.
