She graduated from the University of Illinois (where she was a Kappa Alpha Theta sorority member) with honors in music and dance.
Career
She has collaborated with various artists including Tina Turner, The Manhattan Transfer, Giorgio Moroder, Donna Summer, The Three Degrees and Keb Missouri Bennett"s Grammy nomination was for "The Theme from Midnight Express", her contribution to the Midnight Express movie soundtrack. Bennett"s 2010 Civil Defense, Sail Away - The Tahiti Sessions, was produced by Chris Bennett and Eric Doney and recorded on the island of Tahiti.
The Civil Defense includes a live string ensemble.
