Clackson attended Western Michigan University where he played four seasons of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I college hockey with the Western Michigan Broncos men"s ice hockey team
He is currently playing with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL. Following his graduation, Clackson began his professional career by joining the AHL"s Adirondack Phantoms for two games at the end of their 2009-2010 season.
