Hahn also has his German citizenship. Hahn earned a Scholarship to attend the University of Maine and played four years (2005/06-2008/09) of Division I College Hockey for the University of Maine Black Bears. Hahn played in the 2007 National Collegiate Athletic Association Frozen Four in Milwaukee and the 2008 National Collegiate Athletic Association Frozen Four in Saint Louis.
Hahn contributed 16 goals and 24 assists for 40 points in 106 career games for the Black Bears.
Hahn was also named one of 10 Finalists for the Lowe"s Senior Class Award, a National Award. Hahn earned a Business/Finance Degree (summa cum laude) at the University of Maine in 2009.
Hahn was named a Maine Scholar/Athlete in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Hahn was also named to the Hockey East Honor Roll in 2006 and was named to the Hockey East All Academic Team in 2007, 08 and 09.
In 2008 Hahn was Awarded for the highest Grade Point Average (40 Grade Point Average) in Hockey East.
Hahn spent six years (1999/00-2004/05) at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, Canada. Hahn graduated from Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in 2003. Hahn played Bantam American Automobile Association, Midget American Automobile Association and Junior A hockey for the Notre Dame Hounds.
Hahn played in the Saskatchewan Midget American Automobile Association All Star games in 2002 and 2003.
Hahn played Junior A for the Notre Dame Hounds and participated in the 2003/04 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Prospects Game in 2004 and the SJHL All Star Game in 2005. Hahn had 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points in 2003/04 and had 27 goals and 36 assists for 63 points in 2004/05.
Hahn also participated in Lacrosse at Notre Dame and was named a First Team All Star and Tournament Most Valuable Player at the Saskatchewan Provincial Intermediate Field Lacrosse Championships in 2001. Hahn was selected to play for Team Saskatchewan in the National Intermediate Championships in 2001 and was selected to the First All Star Team at the National Championships.
