Career
Holt made his professional debut in January 2002 at the age of 28. Holt stayed unbeaten through four fights, losing for the first time to 10-0 Giovanni Alvarez of Sweden. After three more wins Holt was pitted against 31-5 Kenny Ellis, who gave him his second loss.
In September 2004 Holt brought a record of 9-3 into a bout with Kwan Manassah, billed as a contest for the Minnesota state middleweight title.
Holt lost the state title in a loss to Butch Hajicek in Fargo, North Dakota in December 2005, though questions were raised later about the propriety - even the legality - of having a Minnesota state title fight outside of Minnesota. The loss to Hajicek was part of a slide in which Holt lost four straight fights and five out of six, including losses to Andre Ward, Aaron Mitchell, and Jean Paul Mendy.
Holt retired from professional boxing with a record of 16 wins, 9 losses, and 1 draw, with 9 of his 16 wins coming by knockout.
