Background
Marsh, who grew up in Sedgley was a pupil at Queen Victoria Primary School and then Dormston School, began his footballing career as a trainee with Walsall in 1986, joining the club on leaving school, and went on to make over 450 appearances in thirteen seasons, helping the club to promotion in 1995 and 1999.
Career
He played primarily as a fullback but played in virtually every position on the field In January 2001, feeling that he had gone stale, he requested a transfer and joined Wycombe Wanderers in March 2001 for a transfer fee of £30,000.
