Career
He has also played for Ayr United, Bradford City and Queen of the South, after starting his career at Falkirk. Mitchell began his senior career with Falkirk in 2007, moving to Ayr United on loan in January 2010. He was released by Falkirk at the end of the 2010-2011 season.
Mitchell signed for current club Bradford City on 1 July 2011 on a free transfer, along with Mark Stewart also from Falkirk.
He made his debut against Aldershot on the opening day of the season. He scored his first goal for the club in a home match against Rotherham United on 19 November.
On 28 April 2012 it was announced that he would leave the club after his contract was ended by mutal consent, along with Michael Flynn and Craig Fagan. On 26 July 2012 Mitchell signed for Queen of the South on a one-year contract.
On 11 May 2015, Mitchell agreed to join Clyde from Queen of the South on a one-year deal.
