Career
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Parr was Fellow in Theatre at the University of Bradford. In the mid-1970s, he became Artistic Director of the Traverse Theatre. In 1994, he was appointed head of drama at British Broadcasting Corporation Birmingham.
By 2002, he had moved to Thames Television as head of drama.
