Career
Rynning is the author of the 2013 book, Little Streams, Big River, and publishes a daily newsletter on Chinese economics and financial events. From December 2006 until January 2015, one of his most important roles was Chief Executive Officer of publicly listed Origo Partners Public Limited Company. Origo is a private equity investment company Rynning founded in 2004, focused exclusively on growth opportunities created by the urbanization and industrialization of China and India. Origo is listed on the London Stock Exchange and its investment strategy is focused on the natural resources, renewable energy, and clean-tech sectors.
A graduate of École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales in Paris, Rynning also holds an Master of Business Administration with specialization in Finance from the University of Chicago.
Rynning was the Chairman of the Norwegian Business Association in Beijing and Adjunct Professor II at Handelshøyskolen Trondheim (HIST), Norway. Rynning is also the Editor of Norwegian Linksa business magazine connecting China and Scandinavia.
Rynning is a frequent commentator with various Chinese and western media, including Bloomberg, Consumer News and Business Channel, FT, DN, PE International and Finansavisen.
