Education

Brought to America, 1854. Educated Central Wesleyan College, Missouri, private study, specializing in economics.

Career

Began in milling business with father, February 3, 1873. Incorporated, 1885, as The C. Hoffman & Son Milling Company. Became partner Kansas Flour Mills Company, 1910.

Founder and many years president Dickinson Company Bank. Founded The Banking Trust Company and The Peoples National Bank, Kansas City, Kansas. Retired from active business, 1910, and from then devoted attention to promotion of socialism and investigation of vice conditions on the Pacific Coast.
